Award Description

Alfreda Simons Kartha Award

: Awarded annually to a student entering their second year of Nursing in the Faculty of Health Sciences, who has demonstrated academic achievement and most reflects Professor Kartha's warmth, compassion and interest in gerontology and chronic illness. Self-nominated or faculty nominated candidates must submit a letter of application with a resume and supporting documentation to the Chair of the Nursing Scholarships and Awards Committee by March 15. Final selection will be made by the Nursing Scholarships and Awards Committee. This award was made possible by the generous donations of family and friends in memory of Alfreda Simons Kartha, a distinguished faculty member in the School of Nursing.
