Course Description

Mathematics 413a/b Rings and Modules

Rings, sub-rings, ideals; isomorphism theorems; polynomial rings, integral domains, unique factorization domains, principal ideal domains, Euclidean domains; modules, submodules, quotient modules, the decomposition of finitely-generated modules over a principal ideal domain with applications, or results in non-commutative ring theory such as the Wedderburn- Artin theorem.

Prerequisite: Mathematics 303b.
