Algebraic varieties, Hilbert nullstellensatz, coordinate rings and function fields, birational correspondence, affine and projective curves, Bezout's theorem, Plucker's formulas. Max Noether's fundamental theorem, divisors and linear series, the Riemann-Roch theorem, applications. |
| Prerequisites: Mathematics 307b and 303b. Mathematics 319a/b is desirable but not required. |
