MME 307a/b Heat Transfer

Development of general energy equation for three dimensions. Steady state conduction in one and two dimensions. Transient heat conduction. Forced and natural convection heat transfer. Radiation heat transfer. Surface properties and shape factor.

Antirequisite: The former ES 307a/b.
Prerequisites: MME 204a/b or the former ES 204a/b, Applied Mathematics 275 or the former Applied Mathematics 270.
3 lecture hours, 2 tutorial hours, half course.
