Course Description

MME 385y Selected Experiments in Mechanical Engineering

Familiarization with basic laboratory equipment procedures; introduction to signal analysis and error estimation; selected laboratory experiments illustrating basic physical phenomena pertinent to second and third year core courses. Structured and formalized laboratory reports. Each student is required to make an oral presentation as part of an oral examination.

Prerequisites: MME 202a/b or the former ES 202a/b, MME 213a/b or the former ES 213a/b, MME 204a/b or the former ES 204a/b, MME 273a/b or the former ES 273a/b, MME 258a/b or the former ES 258a/b, Statistical Sciences 241a/b.
Corequisites: MME 303a/b, MME 307a/b, MME 380a/b MME 381a/b.
1 lecture hour, 1.5 laboratory hours, half course over two terms.
