Political Science 437E Modernity in Political Theory: Origins, Characteristics, Critiques

A seminar on the emergence and evolution of some of the characteristic features of "modern" political theory in and after the Enlightenment period. Themes may include the secularisation of political thought, the politics of individualism, the politics of commercial society, and critiques of modernity in recent political theory.

Prerequisites: Political Science 237E and one additional course in political theory, or permission of the Instructor.
