Course Description

History 354E European-Amerindian Relations in Canada

A survey of the interaction between traditional Amerindian institutions and expanding European communities from the sixteenth century to the present. Particular attention will be paid to comparisons of different Indian policies and the varying reactions of the "first peoples".

Prerequisite: History 025E or 232E or 233E or the former 231E or permission of Department.
