Course Description

International and Comparative Studies 013a/b Beginning Japanese

This course is a continuation of International and Comparative Studies 012a/b, and covers more basic grammar and short conversations and increases voacbulary. Katakana writing and additional Kanji are studied. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to carry on simple conversations and to read simple written text. Visual aids are used in the course. Prepares students for progression to International and Comparative Studies 026: Introductory Hindi.

Antirequisites: OAC Japanese, International and Comparative Studies 006, or the former Modern Eastern Civilizations 006, 013a/b.
Prerequisite: International and Comparative Studies 026or the former Modern Eastern Civilizations 026.
