International and Comparative Studies 241a/b Business Chinese 2

A study of business terminology, communication styles and formats. The course will present both linguistic and cultural knowledge for conducting business in Chinese. Practical exercises will be aimed at developing competence to establish a successful business relationship, e.g., reading and writing market reports, analyzing business contracts.

Prerequisite: A first-year university-level language course in Standard Chinese or equivalent, or permission of the Department.
