Natural loads and their effect on civil engineering structures are examined and discussed in the context of the National Building Code of Canada. Included are the effects of wind on buildings and structures, an introduction to seismic loads, snow loads on roofs, etc. |
| Antirequisite: The former ES 219a/b, 342a/b, 429a/b. |
| Prerequisite: CEE 224, or the former CEE 219a/b |
| Corequisite: CEE 340a/b. |
| 2 lecture hours, 3 tutorial hours, half course. |
