Comparative Literature and Civilization 270F/G The Romantic Period

A study of the literature, art, and music of the period 1770-1850 in Europe. Major themes include individualism, Romantic heroism, revolution, and the revival of interest in medievalism, folklore, childhood and nature.

Antirequisite: The former Comparative Literature and Civilization 114F/G.
Prerequisite: Comparative Literature and Civilization 020 or permission of the Department.
