ECE 236a/b Engineering Electromagnetics

Electrostatics, field of a charge, charge density, field of a DC current, magnetostatics, permittivity, permeability and conductivity of materials,Coulomb's, Gauss', Ampere's, Biot-Savart's, Faraday's laws, capacitors, inductors of transmission lines, transformers, stepping motors.

Antirequisite: The former ES 236a/b
Prerequisites: ECE 205a/b, Applied Mathematics 026, Physics 026.
Corequisite: Applied Mathematics 276, ECE 230y, ECE 233a/b
3 lecture hours, 1 tutorial hour, half course.
