Course Description

English 214E Medieval Language and Literature

An introduction to some of the major themes and forms of Old and Middle English literature, with particular emphasis on Beowulf, Chaucer and his contemporaries, and the Arthurian tradition.

Antirequisites: English 217F/G and 218F/G.
Prerequisites: At least 60% in English 020E, 022E, 024E or the former 026, and at least 60% in all subsequent English courses, or permission of the Department.
