Course Description

Anthropology 255E Feminist Perspectives in Anthropology

Critical assessment of feminist theory and methodology for cross-cultural interpretations. Topics include: critical examination of gender, division of labor, power, production and reproduction, ideology, communication, "nature"; controversies over nature/nurture, nature/culture, public/private.

Prerequisite: One 020-099 level course from Administrative Studies, Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology or Sociology or the former Anthropology 120F/G or registration in the Women's Studies program or the Applied Women's Studies Certificate, or permission of the Department.
