ACADEMIC AWARDS AND BURSARIES
To retain a Continuing Scholarship during the academic year (Sept.-May), a student must:
Students holding a Continuing Scholarship in a Professional School or Faculty whose average falls below 80%, will be required to stand in the top 25% of the class and achieve an average of 75% or better to maintain that Continuing Scholarship.
Students whose overall average falls below the normal minimum standard for retaining a continuing scholarship may appeal in writing to the Dean of their Faculty by October 15. The following documentation must be provided: A letter outlining the basis of the appeal and any special circumstances which warrant consideration.
The final decision regarding eligibility to retain the scholarship will be made by the Dean of their Faculty. All requests for appeals shall be reviewed by the Dean of their Faculty. Inquiries should be directed to the Office of the Registrar.
Students who have been awarded President's Scholarships will retain their scholarship irrespective of the undergraduate Faculty in which they chose to register.
Students who have been awarded Faculty Entrance Scholarships or a UWO Continuing Scholarship may retain their scholarship irrespective of the undergraduate Faculty in which they chose to register after first year.
Note: Students who have been awarded these scholarships in the Faculties of Arts or Social Science may transfer between these two faculties at any time without losing their scholarships.
