Course Description

Applied Mathematics 290a Mathematical Methods for Chemistry I

Partial differentiation and functions of several variables, analytic geometry and vectors, multiple integrals, first and second order ordinary differential equations and power series solutions.

Antirequisites: Calculus 250a/b, 280a/b, or the former Applied Mathematics 200, 281a, or the former Mathematics 204a, 205b, 285b.
Prerequisite: Calculus 051a/b or 081a/b (minimum mark of 55%); or the former Applied Mathematics 020, or 023a plus 024b, or the former Mathematics 027, or Mathematics 030 (minimum mark of 80%).
3 lecture hours, half course.
