Course Description

MME 487a/b Mechatronic System Design

Integration of mechanical, electrical, control and computing technologies in order to "optimize" product performance. Topics include: product design; system modeling; sensors and transducers; measurement systems; mechanical and electrical actuation systems; microcontrollers; and intelligent control.

Antirequisite: The former ES 487a/b.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of 3rd year of the Engineering program.
2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory hours, half course.
