| Astronomy 331a/b Galactic Structure and Interstellar Matter | 
| Stellar motions, populations and structures of galaxies. Interstellar gas and dust. Infrared, millimetre and radio astronomy. | 
| Prerequisites: Calculus 250a/b and 251a/b, or the former Applied Mathematics 200 or the former Mathematics 204a and 205b; plus the former Physics 256a and 258b; or permission of the Department. | 
| 3 lecture hours, half course. |
