Microbiology and Immunology 450b Advanced Bacteriology

Selected topics of current interest in bacteriology, focusing on aspects of bacterial diversity: structural components, physiology, associations, their influence in the environment. Current phylogenetic concepts will be considered.

Prerequisites: Biochemistry 280a (formerly Biology 280a), Microbiology and Immunology 220a/b or the former Microbiology and Immunology 359b (formerly Biology 359b).
2 lecture hours, 1 tutorial hour, half course.
