Course Description

Nursing 391 Promoting the Health of Communities

This course provides the theoretical foundation for understanding community health issues and for designing population-based strategies for promoting community health. Participants will examine concepts from nursing, public health, epidemiology and community development as they relate to nursing communities.

Prerequisites for registered nurses: Nursing 318a/b, 319a/b, 361a, 362a
Prerequisite for basic students: Completion of Year 1 and 2 of the Basic Nursing Program.
Corequisites for registered nurses: Nursing 392
Corequisite for basic students: Registration in all courses required in Year 3 of the Basic Nursing Program.
