Philosophy 456E Philosophy of Social Science

Advanced seminar on selected problems in philosophy of the social sciences. Topics include: the relationship between social and natural science, the role of intentional vs causal explanation, interpretive and hermeneutic methodologies, theory evaluation in the social sciences.

Prerequisite: Philosophy 226F/G, 344E or 345F/G; or third or fourth year honors standing in Philosophy or Social Science with at least one 020-level or honors Philosophy course.
