Course Description

Political Science 317F/G Interest Groups and Social Movements

An analytical and comparative study of interest groups and social movements. The course will examine the theoretical and historical literature on interest groups and social movements, trace the role of groups and movements in the policy-making process, and evaluate the effectiveness of groups and movements as agents of democratic representation.

Antirequisite: The former Political Science 338E, 138, 238.
Prerequisites: Political Science 230E or 234E or 244E or the former Political Science 251E.
2 seminar hours, half course.
