Social Work 413a/b Social Work, Ethics and the Law

This course is intended to familiarize students with the meaning and place of ethics and the law in the practice of Social Work. Emphasis is placed on the notion of moral reasoning as an integral aspect of professional understanding and practice. Legislation, court systems and procedures are examined in the light of their ethical and legal aspects.

Antirequisites: The former Social Work 425a/b and 455a/b.
Prerequisites: All third-year social work courses.
3 lecture hours, half course.
