Course Description

Social Work 458a/b Family Social Policy and Programs

This course will engage the student in an understanding of particular family-related policies including their articulation, interest group involvement, monitoring, evolution and implementation. Issues surrounding child and family policies and programs include existing services and supports, responsibility for child and family well being, social partnerships, expected and unintended outcomes, evaluation and future responses.

Antirequisite: The former Social Work 471a/b.
Prerequisite: Social Work 309F/G or the former 282, or Social Work 284.
3 lecture hours, half course.
