Course Description

CEE 476a/b Environmental Hydraulics Design

The application of hydraulic engineering principles in the analysis of environmental flows. Topics include: Stratified flows, turbulent jets and plumes, wastewater and thermal diffusers, cooling ponds and cooling channels and the control of environmental problems such as zebra mussels and ice.

Antirequisite: The former ES 450b, 476a/b.
Prerequisite: CEE 224 or the former CEE 223a/b
2 lecture hours, 1 laboratory hour, 2 tutorial hours, half course.
