Earth Sciences 020 Introduction to Earth Sciences

Origin and structure of the Earth as revealed by geophysical and geological investigations; composition and history of the Earth, including rocks and minerals and the evolution of life; surficial processes, economic mineral deposits; the role of Earth Sciences in understanding and resolving environmental problems.

Antirequisites: Earth Sciences 081a/b, 082a/b, 083F, 084b, the former Earth Sciences 080.
Prerequisite: OAC Chemistry or equivalent or registration in the Faculty of Science.
2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory hours.
