Earth Sciences 371b Mineral Deposits - Geology

A survey course on the classification and descriptive geology of ore deposits relative to global tectonic cyclicity. The material covered builds directly on Earth Sciences 370a, but emphasizes the application of metallogenic theory to mineral exploration. Laboratory work focuses on reflecting light (ore) microscopy in practical study of important ore suites.

Prerequisite: Earth Sciences 370a or permission of the Department.
2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory hours, half course.
