Course Description

English 287F/G Canadian Drama

This course provides an introduction to English- language Canadian drama and theatre history from ship-board theatricals of 1583 to contemporary Canadian theatre (with emphasis on the latter). Topics include political satire, symphonic expressionism, workers' theatre, regionalism, collective creations, docudrama, and feminism.

Prerequisites: At least 60% in English 020E, 022E, 024E, and at least 60% in all subsequent English courses, or permission of the Department.
3 hours, half course.
