Course Description

Anthropology 317F/G Cultural Structures of First Nations Imagination.

Representations of the First Nations, particularly by First Nations writers and artists. Folklore, art, oral tradition, fiction, poetry and drama analyzed in relation to performance of First Nations identity in contemporary Canadian society.

Prerequisite: Anthropology 217F/G or 218F/G or the former Anthropology 110E, 205E or 214F/G; or permission of the Instructor.
Must be registered in Anthropology Year 3 or 4
3 lecture/seminar hours, half course.
