FOUR-YEAR BSc HONORS GENETICS

Admission Requirements

For admission to the Honors Genetics program a student must fulfil the requirements for a 3-year BSc in Biology with an overall average of 70% in the last two years, and at least a 70% average in the five senior biology courses which make up the area of concentration, and must include:

Biology 281b and 290a/b (with a mark of at least 70% in each), plus two of Biology 390a, 391b, 392a and 393b, at least one of which must have a laboratory (each completed with a mark of at least 70%)

Fourth Year

Principal Courses

Genetics 491 and 492
Two full courses or equivalent chosen from: Genetics 411a, 412b, 413b, and 480; Biology 390a, 391b, 392a, and 393b, if not taken previously; Microbiology and Immunology 467b; Biochemistry 410a; Zoology 440b

Subsidiary Course

One course offered in the Faculty of Science.
