The Human Ecology programs offer an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the individual, the living unit, and the community. This approach prepares the graduates for service-oriented professions.

The student is urged to seek counselling from a faculty member of the Human Ecology Department well in advance of registration, since specialization begins early in the programs.
BA (Human Ecology) programs: OAC1 English and OSSD Grade 11 Advanced Chemistry
BSc (Human Ecology) programs: OAC1 English, Biology and Chemistry plus OSSD Grade 12 Mathematics (preferably at the Advanced level)
For progression within the 3-year Human Ecology program, students must obtain a minimum overall average of 70% in the principal courses and a passing grade in the subsidiary courses. Students with an average of 60-69% in the principal courses may be allowed to progress by permission of the Department of Human Ecology but only under special individual circumstances.
