Course Description

Film Studies 251E World Cinema

An introductory examination of the finest achievements of internationally renowned directors, important film movements and national film cultures. Through screenings and discussion of 25 films selected from the entire history of the medium, students develop a means of discussing film as an international art.

Antirequisite: The former Film 151E.
Prerequisites: At least 60% in Film Studies 020E, and at least 60% in all subsequent Film Studies courses, or permission of the Department.
1 lecture hour, 1 seminar/tutorial hour, 1 3-hour screening.
