Course Description

Anthropology 338a/b Skeletal Biology

An exploration of the role that skeletal material plays in providing anthropological information. Emphasis will be placed on the analytical techniques used in osteology and odontology for: measuring biological adaptability in archaeological populations; creating individual biographies; the reconstruction of cultural activities.

Prerequisite: Anthropology 226a/b, or the former Anthropology 225 and permission by application.
1 lecture hour, 2 laboratory hours, half course.
Note: Permission must be obtained by application to the Department by May 30th of the academic year prior to when the course is scheduled to be offered. Applications are available in the Department of Anthropology.
