History 344E The United States, 1783-1901

The Development of the American Nation. The framing of the Constitution, the emergence of political parties, the growth of nationalism and sectionalism, the impact of egalitarianism, and the disintegration and restoration of the Union.

Prerequisite: One senior U.S. history course.
