Course Description

Philosophy 132E Philosophy in Literature

A philosophical critique of human life, values and society based on an analysis of representative literary works. The emphasis is on European literature, with readings from such authors as Dostoevsky, Nietzsche, Tolstoy, Mann, Kafka, Sartre, Beckett and Borges.

Antirequisite: Philosophy 172F/G and 232E.
