Philosophy 221F/G Conceptual Development of Mathematics

A survey of some important basic concepts of mathematics in an historical setting, and in relation to the broader history of ideas. Topics may include: the evolution of the number concept, the development of geometry, Zenos paradoxes.

Antirequisite: Philosophy 121.
