English 226E Literature of the 16c (Survey)

Poetry, prose and drama from the Tudor period; works by writers from More to Shakespeare, studied in relation to developments in form and genre, to historical and cultural contexts, and as individual achievements.

Antirequisite: English 224E and227F/G
Prerequisites: At least 60% in an 020-level English course, and at least 60% in all subsequent English courses, or permission of the department.
