Course Description

History 354E European-Amerindian Relations in Canada

A survey of the interaction between traditional Amerindian institutions and expanding European communities from the sixteenth century to the present. Particular attention will be paid to comparisons of different Indian policies and the varying reactions of the "first peoples".

Prerequisite: One history course numbered 200 or above.
