Course Description

Communication Sciences and Disorders 417a/b Hearing Science

The study of the parameters of acoustics and their psychological correlates. Topics include acoustics, anatomy and physiology, physiology, thresholds, masking, loudness, pitch, binaural phenomena, and speech intelligibility.

Antirequisite: the former Communicative Disorders 217a/b
Prerequisite: Psychology 020, 023
3 lecture hours, 1 laboratory/tutorial hour, half course.
