Earth Sciences 420a/b Geophysical Forward and Inverse Modelling Methods

An introduction to potential theory and methods of interpreting geophysical data through the construction of forward models, optimization of misfit surfaces, and inversion.

Prerequisites: Calculus 280a/b and 281a/b, or Applied Mathematics 290a and 291b; or the former Applied Mathematics 281a and 282b, or 200.
2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory hours, half course.
