Course Description

Anthropology 303F/G Media, Modernity and the Global Imagination.

Ethnographic perspectives on the production and consumption of cultural narratives via mass media and new electronic technologies. Topics may include: globalization and culture; national and post-national identities; visual discourses; use of media technologies by indigenous and ethnic groups; space, place and identity.

Prerequisite: Any Social Science Essay full or half course and 3rd year registration or higher in any program.
3 lecture hours, half course.
