DIPLOMA IN ART THERAPY

Unique in Canada, this program offers training in art therapy with an emphasis on the acquisition of interviewing and counselling skills utilizing a range of art therapy techniques. Graduates of the program are prepared to serve as members of multidisciplinary teams of mental health care professionals in psychiatric centres, nursing homes, drug and alcohol treatment centres, residential treatment centres and general hospitals, among other settings. This diploma can be completed in two years, but may be pursued on a part-time basis. The time limit is three years. Entry into this program normally requires an undergraduate degree and some community experience. This program is offered in partnership with The Western Centre for Continuing Studies.
