ADMISSION FROM OTHER CANADIAN PROVINCES

Students in Canadian secondary schools outside Ontario are eligible for admission to first year on the basis of Senior Matriculation.

Enrolment in first year is limited and admission to Western is competitive. Early provisional offers of admission to applicants from Canadian provinces other than Ontario will be based on interim grades.

Applicants must meet both Western's admission requirements and those of a university in their home province. If Grade 12 is presented as Senior Matriculation, a minimum "B" average is required for admission. Upgrading in certain subject areas, particularly mathematics, may be required during first year to satisfy the admission or progression requirements of specific programs.

Applicants who have earned credit in an appropriate combination of traditional academic courses and who have completed one of the following programs are eligible to apply.

  • Alberta: Grade 12.
  • British Columbia: Grade 12.
  • Manitoba: Grade 12.
  • New Brunswick: Grade 12.
  • Newfoundland: Grade 12.
  • Northwest Territories: Grade 12.
  • Nova Scotia: Grade 12.
  • Nunavut: Grade 12.
  • Prince Edward Island: Grade 12.
  • Quebec: Grade 12 or its equivalent, i.e., completion of first year CEGEP (pre-university) with appropriate standing. Transfer credit will be considered under approved guidelines and course equivalencies for applicants registered in or who have completed second year.
  • Saskatchewan: Grade 12.
  • Yukon: Grade 12.
