BA HONORS GEOGRAPHY


Admission Requirements

First year program in Arts, Science, or Social Science with Geography 020E and any two first year full-course equivalents as principal courses. A principal course average of at least 70% must be achieved.


Second Year

    One full-course equivalent from any department other than Geography


Third and Fourth Years
Principal Courses

    Geography 343y and 301a/b (mandatory in third year)

    Geography 448a/b (mandatory in fourth year)

    Four and one-half full-course equivalents from 300- and 400-level Geography courses. (Prerequisites for individual courses must be met.) (See note 3 below.)


Subsidiary Courses

    Four full-course equivalents (see note 1 below)


Notes
  1. In years 3 and 4, not more than one full-course equivalent from 200, 300, and 400-level Geography offerings may be taken in lieu of subsidiary courses.
  2. For purposes of progression and graduation, ALL Honors Geography courses taken shall be counted as principal course in that year.
  3. At least one half-course in third or fourth year must be a regional course to be selected from the following: Geography 124a/b, 128a/b, 146E, 157a/b, 166a/b, 352a/b, 366a/b, the former Geography 129a/b, 130a/b, 389a/b, 390a/b. A maximum of one full-course equivalence may be at the 100 course level. It is recommended that it be completed in Year 4.
  4. Students are encouraged to take Geography 490E.
