RELIGIOUS STUDIES


Area of Concentration

A mark of at least 60% in one Religious Studies course at the 020-level. Five senior courses in Religious Studies. With permission of the Department an approved senior course in a related discipline may be substituted for one of these five.

Students wishing to concentrate in Religious Studies should consult the Department each year prior to registration.

Courses taken in Religious Studies at any of the affiliated colleges will earn credit towards an area of concentration.


MINOR IN PHILOSOPHY
Admission Requirements:

First year with a grade of 60% or more in a Philosophy 020 level course.


Program:

At least 4.0 courses in Philosophy, including the equivalent of 2.0 from the following:
Philosophy 135E Philosophy of Art
Philosophy 138E Existentialism
Philosophy 142E Moral Philosophy in Practice
Philosophy 143E /253E Philosophy of Religion
Philosophy 155E Philosophical Issues in Feminism
Philosophy 238E Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy.


MINOR IN RELIGIOUS STUDIES AND PHILOSOPHY
Admission Requirements:

First year with a grade of 60% or more in a Philosophy 020 level course and a Religious Studies 020 Course.


Program:

2.0 senior level courses in Religious Studies and 2 senior level courses in Philosophy.

Religious Studies: 2.0 senior level courses, at least 1.0 of which is from the following:
Religious Studies 137 /243F/G Foundations of Contemporary Theology
Religious Studies 191F/G Special Topics
Religious Studies 192F/G Special Topics
Religious Studies 217F/G Education for Religious & Spiritual Development
Religious Studies 222F/G Feminist Spirituality Today
Religious Studies 251F/G Women in the Christian Tradition from the First to the Twelfth Century
Religious Studies 252F/G Women in the Christian Tradition from the Twelfth Century to the Present
Religious Studies 253F/G Women in the Christian Tradition and Society
Religious Studies 216F/G Women and the Bible.

AND Philosophy:
Required: Philosophy 143E / 253E Philosophy of Religion
One additional course in Philosophy, from the following:
Philosophy 135E Philosophy of Art

Admission Requirements:

A grade of 60% or more in a Religious Studies 020 level course.

At least 4 full courses in Religious Studies/Philosophy/Women's Studies, from the following:
