Admission Requirements
Principal Courses

Economics 020 or 021
Statistical Sciences 023a/b
One full course equivalent, chosen from the following: Calculus 050a/b and either Calculus 051a/b (minimum mark of 60%) or Calculus 081a/b (minimum mark of 85%**), or Applied Mathematics 026.
Linear Algebra 040a/b*


Subsidiary Courses

    Two courses

* If Linear Algebra 040a/b is not taken in first year, it must be completed prior to the beginning of third year.
If Statistical Sciences 023a/b is not taken in first year, students should consult with an academic counsellor in the Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences prior to entering second year.
** Students who completed Calculus 081a/b prior to September 2003 may enter this program with a minimum mark of 70% in Calculus 081a/b.


Second Year

Actuarial Science 223a and either Actuarial Science 221a/b or 225a/b
Statistical Sciences 257a
Statistical Sciences 259a/b plus one of 260b or the former 258b; or the former Statistical Sciences 255
Economics 260a/b, 261a/b
Calculus 280a/b and 281a/b, or equivalent (See Department for equivalents).


Subsidiary Course

One-half course**

** Linear Algebra 040a/b must be taken prior to the beginning of third year, with a minimum mark of 60%. If Statistical Sciences 023a/b is not taken in first year, students should consult with an academic counsellor in the Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences prior to entering

Four half-courses from: Statistical Sciences 421F/G and Actuarial Science at the 400-level
One of Economics 320a/b, 382a/b, 388a/b, plus three additional half-courses in Economics at the 300-or 400-level.
