The first year program in the social sciences is intended to lead to modules offered by departments within the Faculty of Social Science. However, it also affords admission to modules in the faculties of Arts and Humanities or Science provided that the prerequisites for upper year courses are satisfactorily met. Similarly, students who have successfully completed a first year program in Arts or in Science are eligible to enrol in Social Science modules in subsequent years.
