HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN ANTHROPOLOGY


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including either Anthropology 025F/G and one of Anthropology 026F/G or 027a/b or Anthropology 020E plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.


Module

9.0 courses:

1.0 course from: Anthropology 211F/G, 212F/G, 216F/G, 217F/G, 218F/G, 219F/G, 230F/G, 231F/G, 232F/G, 233F/G, 234F/G, of which at least 0.5 must be from 211F/G through 219F/G
3.0 courses: Anthropology 222F/G, 245F/G, 301E, 400E
1.0 course from: Anthropology 226a/b and 229F/G OR Anthropology 247a/b and 248a/b
4.0 additional courses in Anthropology at the 200 level or above. Students
may substitute a maximum of 1.0 course, not previously taken, from: Anthropology 211F/G, 212F/G, 216F/G, 217F/G, 218F/G, 219F/G, 230F/G, 231F/G, 232F/G, 233F/G, 234F/G.

* Students interested in Linguistic Anthropology should take Anthropology 247a/b and 248a/b. All other students should take Anthropology 226a/b and 229F/G.


Note: Some courses are offered only in alternate years. Students are advised to consult the Department when planning their module. (See list of the courses by subfield at the end of this section.)
