Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including 1.0 course from: English 020E, 022E, 024E, 025E, 026E, plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.

10.0 courses:

1.0 course: English 204F/G, 215a/b (mandatory in second year)
0.5 course: English 316F/G
5.0 courses: 1.0 course from each of groups A, B, C, D, E
1.0 course in English at the 400 level
2.5 additional essay courses in English at the 200 level or above. With permission of the Department, 1.0 of these may be at the 100 level.

Group A: English 211, 212, 214E, 217F/G, 218F/G, 272E

Group B: English 226E, 227F/G, 228F/G, 236E, 237F/G, 238F/G, 245E, 246F/G, 247F/G, 248E, 249F/G, 250F/G
Note: English 224E and 234E are also accepted for credit in Group B

Group C: English 202E, 206F/G, 207E, 210F/G, 213F/G, 219F/G, 266E, 267F/G,268F/G, 276E, 277F/G, 278F/G
Note: English 244E and 254E are also accepted for credit in Group C
