Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including 1.0 course from: History 020E, 021E, 025E, 027E, 028E, 029E, or 030E with a minimum mark of 60%.

2.0 courses: History 234E, 236E*
1.0 course from: History 231E, 232E, 233E*
2.0 courses from: History 325E, 335E, 344E, 346E, 356E, or other courses on an approved list available from the Department**
1.0 course from: History 227E, 228E, 229E, 237E, 240E, 281E, 335E (if not taken above), History 346E, 356E, or other courses on an approved list available from the Department***
1.0 course from: History 214E, 220E, 221E, 238E, 325E (if not taken above), or other courses on an approved list available from the Department****

* 2.0 of these 3.0 courses must be taken before year 3. The third must be taken before year 4. Students who achieve honors standing in their second year are permitted to take any of the 300- or 400-level courses made available by the Department during their third year and, if honors standing is maintained in third year, are urged to take at least 1.0 history courses at the 400 level in their final year.

** Students who achieve and progress with honors standing may also take any 2.0 courses at the 300 or 400 level currently offered in order to meet this requirement.
